Google Sheets is where analysis actually happens. It is also where data goes to wait for a human.

I know the Monday: export from Stripe, from Search Console, from a database someone named “prod-final.” Clean the CSV. Hope the columns did not move. Run an Apps Script I wrote in a previous life. Watch it fail because a token expired. Tell the team the dashboard is “almost current.”

The pain was not that Sheets is weak. The pain was that the world speaks HTTP and JSON, and I was the adapter, unpaid, unreliable, and in the way.

The cut

Sheetfetch is one feature: connect any source to Google Sheets without becoming a backend.

Paste an API. Add headers. Map the JSON into columns. Schedule the refresh. The sheet stays live — minutes, hours, a day — without me opening it. Turn the sheet around and serve it as a simple JSON API when the next tool needs a feed.

No server to babysit. No “I’ll write a sync this weekend.” The connector is the product.

I built it to get my Monday back. Operators kept it to get their reporting back.

The alternative was always a warehouse, a BI tool, a contractor. Sometimes you need those. Often you need a sheet that does not lie by noon.

Simple feature

If the truth already exists behind a URL, the spreadsheet should be allowed to fetch it. Set it once. Stay in sync. Spend the hour on the decision the numbers were for.

I still love Sheets. I refuse to be its courier.
