Indie Maker on the road to $10K MRR. 🚀✨
What is a Solopreneur?
A Solopreneur (a blend of "Solo" and "Entrepreneur") is a business owner who founds and runs their company entirely on their own, with no intention of hiring full-time employees or scaling into a traditional organization.
A "Company of One"
While a Startup Founder constantly worries about recruiting, building teams, and creating departmental structures, a Solopreneur takes the exact opposite approach: keeping the business as small as possible.
They do everything—writing code, designing UI/UX, running ads, writing SEO content, and answering customer support emails. To achieve this, they rely heavily on Automation, No-Code, and AI tools.
The Intersection of Indie Maker and Solopreneur
Although they share many similarities, the two concepts have a slight difference in focus:
- Indie Maker: The focus is on Making. They are deeply passionate about the process of creating the product.
- Solopreneur: The focus is on the Business side. They concentrate on sales, marketing, and optimizing revenue.
Many people start as an Indie Maker, and once their product gains paying customers, they naturally transition into becoming a true Solopreneur.
Freedom is the Goal
Whether Solopreneur, Indie Hacker, or Indie Maker, they all share the same core value system: They optimize for freedom (time, location, decision-making) rather than trying to become a billionaire or the CEO of a massive corporation.
